Our Story - A Community Based Small Business

El Mejor is a family owned and operated business located at the Historic Downtown Square in McKinney, Texas that was established September 2019.

It all started with big aspirations and an even bigger vision. The goal of El Mejor was to create a welcoming, fun, and delicious dining experience for everyone - an inclusive space where we can not only celebrate food but togetherness; which we believe transcends all cultures.

As time allowed, El Mejor Mexican Kitchen + Cantina has evolved to be a Tex-Mex beacon in Downtown McKinney, bringing a fusion of Mexican influence that is rooted deeply into Texas culture. In crafting a menu that represents two cultures woven into one, we decided it would only be appropriate to serve Mexican street style tacos along side Texas sized hamburgers.

A Family Business:

El Mejor is 100% owned and run by a family and like many of the restaurants and businesses in McKinney - customers directly make a difference in our lives and the lives of our employees. To us, that’s the emergence of our vision. A small business that creates memories to hold onto and uplifts our wonderful McKinney community at large.
